The new Boaters’ Directory was unveiled on the 16 May at Tropical Marine; 100 well-wishers entertained by the fantastic performances of the Power Boats Scorpion Pan Reflections and Tri- Stars Tassa group. Compliment refreshments were given from Angostura Caribbean Club, Joe’s Pizza, doubles lady and Jesse James punch. The 13th edition provides complete information about the yachting community of Trinidad & Tobago with general information about customs, immigration, pet quarantine, anchorages, weather details and most importantly, listing of all the services available at one of the best marine centers in the Caribbean for boat repair, maintenance and storage especially during the hurricane season. Need to know about the local tides, details about the boat yards, local transport, shopping for provisioning; or want to know about fun things like bird watching, snorkeling in clear waters of Tobago, hiking in the rain forest, or jumping up in Trinidad Carnival? It is all explained in the Boaters’ Directory.

Yes, it was evident that the editor and the staff were very proud of the 256 page Directory and they should be proud for its contents and quality but the book launch took a new direction when Jack Dausend announce1 the book dedication... -dedicated to Jesse James (Members Only Maxi- Taxi Service). The reaction from the audience was in agreement with the dedication with applause, cheers and praise. He certainly indeed was a true ambassador for Trinidad. Jesse’s entire family was in attendance and proud!

Following the dedication, the SSCA (Seven Seas Cruising Association) Commodore Denis Webster s/v Tiger Lily II, presented South Bound II Blue Water Sailing Service Award trophy to Jesse James followed by The Mighty Yachtie (Smitty s/v Sarah Noble) singing the “call Jesse” calypso.

Special thanks to: Angostura, Associated Marine Design, Budget Marine, Coral Cove Marina, IMS, Joe’s Pizza, Mighty Yachtie, Power Boats, and the TT Sailing Association.
