by The Mighty Yachtie, (Sylbert Jackson-Smith alias Smitty)

The Mighty Yachtie now is a mighty calypsonian.  It's true. ..Smitty, known for his famous calypso, "Call Jesse" which debut with great excitement at the Taste of Carnival presentation in 2002, and his other calypso "Life on the Hard" which premiered at the Taste of Carnival -2003, now has put together a new CD; Calypsos for Cruisers, for all to enjoy. Not only has he shown his skill with clever lyrics and melody; but plays all the accompanying on instruments including pan, duddup, guitar and percussions with his wife Susanne Jackson Smith as background singer.

Cruisers throughout the Caribbean will thoroughly enjoy this CD which describes the life style of the yachtie humorously relating the sailing and living situations of everything from sea to land adventures.

The Mighty Yachtie, alias Smitty, first touched base in Trinidad on his sailboat s/v Sarah Noble in 2000, initially playing tenor pan with the Silver Stars, followed in subsequent years playing with the Invaders. Smitty has competed in every Panorama competition since 2001.

For only $75, the CD is available at select locations in Chaguaramas including Dockside Foodmart at Power Boats; at S.G.I Distributor at Coral Cove; Carib Internet at Tardieu; or Members Only at Tropical Marine.
