Mighty Yachtie Releases Hurricane

The Mighty Yachtie has released a new CD telling the story about "Hurricanes" in true Calypso style of his experiences after Hurricane Charley nearly destroyed his home in Port Charlotte, Florida.  This CD also has a nice collection; one with a Latin melody that is as a foot stomping hand clapping bar song and another lovely melody You Lucky Enough showing how lucky we are and how we take it all for granted.  His rendition of See The Devil makes the traditional Blue Devils carnival characters come alive in your mind. The music is written in the vintage calypso style of yesteryear with the emphasis on good lyrics and a pleasing melody.  This CD, like his first two (Calypsos For Cruisers and Wise Advice.from de Islands,) is full of rhythm; easy listening.  For more music, visit his web site www.themightyyachtie.com

It was back in 2002 when The Mighty Yachtie (aka Smitty on s/v Sarah Noble), won a calypso competition at the Taste of Carnival performance sponsored by The Boca singing his now famous Call Jesse.

The Call Jesse calypso starts out. ...

As a cruiser, traveling from here to there

We make friends, some become very dear

We made a friend, right here in T&T

You all know him; he drives the Member's Only taxi

Chorus...

So if you need to go to a show           call Jesse

If you groceries are running low       call Jesse
