The Mighty Yachtie

The Mighty Yachtie is a calypsonian who writes music in the old calypso style of yesteryear. I am also a one-man band and play most of the instruments you hear on the CDs. The rest of the instruments I provide from a keyboard. My wife, Susanne, sometimes accompanies me with the background chorus to provide a dynamic effect.

My music is full of rhythm and interesting lyrics. A lot of my calypsos are written on the cruising lifestyle and some relay a message that can be applied to anyone of any lifestyle. Many of my songs are derived from actual events that are true although in some cases, I have applied a little artistic license in order to add a little humor. In 2008 I produced a DVD slide show titled “TTSA Monday Night BBQ” depicting pictures taken at the Trinidad and Tobago Sailing Association Monday Night Pot Luck BBQ. You can click on the picture to read more about it.
